The 2021 Chinese Universities Ranking was released on April 26^thby ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. On the list, Southwest Petroleum University ranked 132^nd, the 4^thamong universities in Sichuan Province and the first among universities affiliated to the province. In the past four years, SWPU has risen more than 100 places in the rankings.

The list also shows SWPU ranked among the 900^th-1000^thin the Academic Rankings of ShanghaiRanking’s World Universities (ARWU). In addition, SWPU students’academic competence ranked 202^nd, further-study rate of graduates 203^rd, and the cultivation of academic talent 120^th.

There were 582 colleges and universities on the 2021 Chinese Universities Ranking list. In Sichuan Province, 34 universities have been listed, and the top 3 include Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Southwest Jiaotong University.
