SWPU Held 2021 World AIDS Day Campaign

On November 28th, Xindu Center for Disease Control and Prevention jointly held the 2021 World AIDS Day campaign with Southwest Petroleum University. The theme is "Life Priority. AIDS Termination. Health Equality". SWPU President Zhao Jinzhou attended the campaign and delivered a speech.

Zhao said, Southwest Petroleum University, as a national pilot university for HIV/AIDS prevention and control, will promote HIV/AIDS prevention and control publicity, education, testing and consultation simultaneously along with COVID-19 prevention and control. In the future, SWPU will continue to work on the health and health education in the new era, always put the health of faculties and students in the first place, and continue to carry out the COVID-19 prevention and control, avoid and minimize the occurrence of HIV risk behaviors.

Volunteers distributed condoms to the students, and the medical staff explained the methods of "quick HIV test kits" and "quick blood test".

All the participants stand in the shape of a red ribbon, swearing "I volunteer to fight against AIDS, and to be responsible for personal health".

In order to enhance people's understanding of AIDS, the World Health Organization (WHO) designated December 1 as World AIDS Day in 1988, calling on countries and international organizations to hold relevant activities on this day to publicize and popularize the knowledge of AIDS prevention. The symbol of World AIDS Day is a red ribbon, symbolizing the public's concern and support for HIV and AIDS patients.(by Shu Lin, Tian Mengyu)
